labeling

Yesterday I found out a very disappointing fact. Here's the link

It's a wonderfully helpful link indeed. What upset me was that Certified Humane is not what I had read it to be a few weeks ago. I had read that it was the only label you could trust when buying eggs to know that surgical mutilations without any pain relief was not permitted. Well, apparently I read wrong. Or I read correctly and it was wrong. I am vastly dissappointed.

SO I set out to search the web for a local farm that I can trust doesn't torture their egg laying chicks by searing off part of their beaks. So far, no luck. Gah! If only we had enough land to raise our own darn chickens to lay eggs. One day we will. And those few chickens will live the good life. They deserve it.
