Dog days of August

August is coming to a close, and it hasn't been nearly as brutally hot and humid and craptastic as several previous Augusts. YAY!

I applied for a job at a tattoo shop, and it's actually promising. I'm just waiting to hear back. I've been 'pre-qualified'... who ever would have thought a tattoo shop (which is new, not opened yet, in Annapolis) would go thru such formalities? But I tell you what, I like that they're doing this. I like it a lot. Professionalism is key, ego and 'old school ways or bust' is inefficient, outdated, and not friendly to the average consumer.

Feeling kind of brain dead this Friday early evening. Busted butt at work all week in an effort to up my numbers. I'm sick of not being on projects. I work for the devil and the devil does things in most frustrating ways.

Found out our friends in Aruba have come across some trying circumstances. I wish them well. I miss them like crazy. It's funny, it's been nearly a year come 2 weeks from now, but it feels like only about a month since we've seen them.

One of my longtime bestest friends turns 40 today. I've known him since before his kids were born- and the oldest is about to drive (if he isn't on learner's already, might be). The big FOUR OH doesn't bother me, but it wasn't until this friend's birthday that I'm like "Woah. The time I have left to be 'young and agile' is actually limited." Yeah well all I have to do is keep working out and eating wisely daily and I should not find myself some feeble old chick at age 55 or 60. I remind myself of this daily.
